Killer Affiliate Formula That Increases Your Sales
Filed Under Affiliate Marketing | Leave a Comment
Being an affiliate is one of the best deals going for most online marketers, but as more people try their hand at marketing products and services online, so the competition rises.
We're reaching a point where website visitors are more precious than ever, and subsequently harder to obtain.
Therefore, it is paramount that we, as affiliate marketers are able to convert as many of these visitors into buyers.
After all, by converting more people we don’t have to spend so much time on hunting down more traffic to our sites and can increase our affiliate checks without overloading our bandwidth.
So the question is, what can you do today to increase affiliate commissions from the same amount of website visitors? Luckily, there are quite a few things you can do to increase the chances of a sale and improve your conversions, so let’s take a look…
1. Place your main offer in the top fold of the page
According to numerous tests, having the offer jammed right in the visitor’s face, such as in the header of the page, will increase the chances of a click, and a subsequent sale. Don’t worry about being obnoxious, people should still be able to easily access your content, but will repeatedly see the main offer first on every relevant page (preferably all pages of the same site).
2. Add more affiliate links with persuasive anchor text
It makes sense that the more times you ask for the sale (or just the click) then the more chances it will actually happen. The old adage of “If you don’t ask then you don’t get” always springs to mind here. Again, don't flood a page with links but add links inside the content and not just at the bottom of your pages or on the navigation bars. Furthermore, refrain from using links that just describe the product name or show the domain of the affiliated site. It’s far better to use anchor text such as “Get relief from your back pain today” than a simple link such as www.amazingwebsiteaboutbackpainrelief.us.uk
3. Create painful, focused content
It is far better to use content that ties in directly with the visitor’s pain and predominant problems. Therefore, the reader will feel more inclined to take action after being presold with your content. For example, you could write an article about the different types of back pain and a few ways to temporarily relieve it, but then provide plenty of affiliate links to the only real solution.
These are just some of the ways you can increase website conversions for affiliate offers, but I admit that they take time and effort to craft and test.
Creating content that presell’s people is a great affiliate marketing model, but by no means the easiest way to make large commissions from affiliate marketing.
Did you know that some of the biggest affiliate marketers online today don’t even need to create content to make affiliate sales? Furthermore, these same marketers are getting several thousand hits to their websites each week purely off the back of other people’s hard work…and most of these marketers don’t even own a domain name!

How To Build A Twitter Landing Page
Filed Under SEO | Leave a Comment
While I was reading my RSS feeds yesterday, I came across an idea that while it was simplistic in nature, it just smacked me in the forehead. Over at ProBlogger, Darren Rowse wrote an editorial about developing a twitter landing page. I thought it was an amazing idea which is very commonly done, but not using social media.
What Is A Landing Page
Wikipedia states
A landing page is sometimes known as a lead capture page, is the page that appears when a potential customer clicks on an advertisement or a search-engine result link.
A landing page is regularly used to give further information based on how the reader got to that page. Darren used this and took it a step further for Twitter.
Why Use a Landing Page
Good business sense of course. What Darren has done was take the stance of someone who starts to follow him on Twitter or someone who looks at his profile. Logically, they want to know more about him and what he does. Makes sense to me. We’re going to break down his landing page to see how we can make our own.
Elements of a Social Media Landing Page
* Welcome and Thank You
First and foremost Darren says hello to the reader. I like this because it makes the person feel as though they truly are welcome to know more about him.
* Say Cheese
On his page is a medium sized very good looking picture of himself. His picture now gives a face to the text. This once again emphasizes the fact we are reading words from a human. I believe sometimes we forget the words don’t just pop into cyberspace by themselves.
* Who Am I?
He gives us his name and tells us the website and twitter account. Sometimes stating the obvious isn’t such a bad idea. I find it quite refreshing actually. Most of the time if you click a link in someone’s profile, it goes to some random site, which just could be a favorite site. I actually encountered someone who had msn in their profile, which we know that isn’t their site.
* Getting a bit personal
So Darren then tells us how old he is, where he lives, and that he is married to “V”. This once again solidifies we are talking to someone real. While some shy away from putting anything personal on their blog, I think it only adds to the package ProBlogger offers its readers.
* Link Love
Now I thought this was a bit smooth if you ask me. He lists all of the blogs he owns. This serves two purposes, first it allows him to link out to the other ones, therefore spreading some well earned page rank, but it gives the reader more places where he can be found.
* Where Am I?
Darren then goes on to talk about ProBlogger and what it offers its readers. In my words it says “Heck, while you are here check out what this blog is about.”
* Where did I come from?
Since his audience for this page came from Twitter, Darren then explains what he does on Twitter. I think this is kinda cool. He tells you what you can expect from his tweets.
* All my other cool stuff
If you are like most, we didn’t write a book or founded a whole media company, so unlike Darren this doesn’t pertain to us….. YET.
So now that we have broke down a very well thought out Twitter landing page, it is time to go out there and make one yourself.

ReadHow To Write A 500-750 Word Articles That Get Published More
Filed Under General Info | Leave a Comment
It’s easier said than done to write great 500-750 word articles.
Some of us simply have too much to say. We have trouble reigning things in at less than 1500 words. Others are on the opposite end of the spectrum strain to make their articles long enough.
Knowing that a 500-750 word article marketing article has a greater chance of getting published on a top website like About.com, I consistently try to get all of my articles to conform to that range. Today, I reveal some of my secrets so you can get published on more top websites and ezines.
8 Tricks for Writing 500-750 Word Articles That Get Published More Often
1) Create an outline
I write a lot of how-to’s and list articles. They are the simplest and best articles you can write for online marketing purposes. After I write my headline, the first thing I do is write down my tips or the steps of my ‘how-to.’ I make brief notes of the major points I want to make without worrying about polishing anything at this point. All I want to do is jot down the skeleton of my article before I start filling in the paragraphs.
2) Fill in the outline and be brief
Say exactly what you need to say to get your point across and stop there. Remember, if you give too much of the “HOW,” your prospects will have NO reason to go back to your website to get your special report or buy your products and services.
3) Save writing the intro paragraph and the conclusion for the end.
This little trick will cut your writing time in half. Some of us ‘wordy’ folks will instinctively go crazy on our intro paragraph and spend huge amounts of time on it trying to get it just right. Then later, we realize that we’ve just spent half of our word count allotment there!
Focus the majority of your words on the “meat” of the article. This is the part that is in between the intro and the conclusion. For ‘How To’ or other 500-750 word list articles, your intro paragraph can be as simple as two to three sentences that intrigue readers and gracefully lead them into your list. Your closing paragraph should be 2 to 4 sentences that motivate readers to take action and go to the next level.
4) Do a word count.
Copy and paste your article into a Word document and then use the word-count editing tool. This’ll give you an idea of how much you need to trim (if you’re over 800 words already) or how much you have to fill in (if you’re under 700 words).
5) Eliminate all redundancies
Many writers have tendencies to say something one time, and then say it again in the next sentence in a different way. Just say it once, clearly and concisely, and then move on. Look over your article and remove any phrasing that does not absolutely have to be there.
6) Remove unnecessary words
Here’s a task you should complete even if you are in the 500-750 word range. Try to cut down your total word count by 10 percent. You can easily complete this task by eliminating unnecessary words. For example, if you write statements like, “It seem to me that most people prefer soft baked chocolate chip cookies rather than hard ones,” you’ve just used up 5 unnecessary words. You don’t need: “It seems to me that.” Don’t second-guess yourself by putting the qualifier “it seems like,” “I think” or “I believe.”
7) Create 2 articles out of 1.
If your word count is too long and you’ve trimmed out as much as you can from each section, you may end up needing to make your “Top 10″ article into two “Top 5″ articles. If you follow this tip, make sure you write each article as a stand-alone article. When you put part 1 and part 2 in the title, you limit your chances for publication success.
Follow this advice and you will write clear, concise articles that get published and read more often. Now, I’d like to invite you to take your article writing efforts to the next level with my A to Z Article Marketing System.
